What are Bid Writers?
Firstly, lets cover what Bid Writers do, for those who may be unfamiliar. Bid writers are expert writers that conduct the bid documents for tenders. They work with clients to establish an understanding of their business and how to proceed with the tender.
Bid Writers use their writing and communication skills to answer tender questions. These questions are how the contracting authority can see why suppliers are suitable for the contract. Bid Writers know exactly how to explain in depth how their client will provide their services to the buyer. They have to be incredibly organised and dedicated to helping their clients to ensure success.
Some bids can take hours or days so Bid Writers have to have excellent project management skills. They also have to work to tight deadlines and work well under pressure.
Benefits of tendering courses
Remote learning
One of the best benefits of tendering courses is that many of them can be completed remotely. This means there is no risk to anyone’s health, and you save time travelling. The time you save from not travelling can be used more productively instead.
Save resources
If you need to tender for work, don’t wait and learn as you go. The pressure of the deadlines will be hard enough. Enrol on a tendering course in advance to ensure time and resources are not wasted.
If you complete a tendering course, you are investing in your business. You’ll be familiar with documents and the process. You can then teach your team all they need to know. They will be able to secure contracts and you’ll see an increase in success rate and income.
Learn from the best
Probably the best part of tendering courses is that they are taught by successful Bid Writers. This means you are learning from the best. It is the most effective way to learn. You’ll see the type of skills needed to conduct successful bids. They’ll be able to offer you insider knowledge, as well as tips and tricks learnt in the industry. Plus, they have already made any mistakes which they can help you to avoid.
Tailored learning
Another benefit of tendering courses is that you can tailor your learning. A lot of courses vary depending on the knowledge and experience you are starting with. If you are fresh to the world of tendering, you’ll be able to find beginners’ courses. They will help you understand what is expected for your first tender. These will ease you into the tendering process without being too overwhelming. If you have some tendering experience, there are tendering courses available specifically for the areas you wish to develop.
Higher chance of success
Most tendering courses are designed to give you all the knowledge you need to succeed. So, you are more likely to see an increase in your success rate. Securing contracts will increase your business’ income, so a tendering course could be your key to success.
What you will learn
How to digest documents
There are a lot of documents involved in the tendering process. Tendering courses will teach you how to do them correctly. The most common document that is involved in almost all tenders is the pre-qualification questionnaire (PQQ). This is the first stage of tendering. It is how a buyer narrows down which suppliers are suitable for the contract. They use a scoring system to select the best bids. This process will be taught during a tendering course. It will make it easier for you to spot high quality work.
Develop your skills
Tendering courses will also help you to develop your writing and communication skills. These are essential as any expert Bid Writer will excel in these areas. So, the more you develop these skills, the higher chance you will stand against competitors.
Tenders are also expected to be completed before a deadline, so time management is a crucial skill. You will be able to develop this by organising which documents need to be completed in time.
